Really good. Always fast service. Portions are generous. They usually have my call-in orders ready in 10 minutes or less.

We ate there with my family today for lunch. The waitress was wonderful and very outgoing (Rachel)
Now the food. I wasn't quite sure what to expect being in the south for Japanese cuisine. I was very impressed! Everything that came out was delicious! From the sushi that I ordered, to the hibachi that everyone else ordered, was amazing! And that being said we're from Las Vegas so we have our choice of hibachi. I would definitely come back! Not to mention they have great lunch specials! And the shrimp was cooked too perfection! -

OK first off, this is a Chinese restaurant masquerading as a Japanese Steakhouse. Based on my one experience its a miserable failure at whatever it is they're trying to accomplish.
As I'm writing this, its with anxiety of having eaten raw scallops and the worst sushi I've ever had in my life. I ordered the spicy tuna, I knew it would be bad because I was told it "already has mayonnaise mixed in." And since all their supplies comes from Sisco, I'm guessing they get a big bag of tuna mush to make these things with. No consistency, no tuna flavor to speak of, I left 4 of those on my plate.
The big problem came with the Steak and Scallops combo. The scallops were completely raw, they had no color and I don't believe spent more than 5 seconds on the grill, sent those back along with what they call "fried rice." Yeah, its fried rice like you get at a Chinese takeout joint as a side, that ain't fried rice. I could hear 4-5 people cussing me out about that complaint. Anyway, the scallops came back out on a refire, they were still raw. Someone else at the table said they'd give it a go, took a bite, tried to chew it and gave up then reissued the thing to his plate. They were terrible.
By now I just wanted out of this hellhole. Can't say I wasn't warned, these Yamatos have sprung up all over Middle Tennessee and they all have similarly bad reviews. Too bad, Lewisburg needs more variety but I wouldn't come looking for it here. -

Unfortunately people ignorant of Japanese food whose taste proliferate imitation Chinese food from Safeway compare their experience to the real world. If you live in the deep south, how can you comment on authentic Asian food? This is a real deal restaurant where the owners are presenting an authentic Japanese style food experience. The Hibachi offerings are very good, nice flavorings but I would like a more aggressive flavor profile. The noodle dishes are OK, but a bit soft and a little generic. Push up the flavor, more garlic and herbs.

One and done. Cold food, poor service equals no tip. Shrimp Bento. No soup. No salad. Same price as Shelbyville where you get both. Son got teriyaki steak bento also cold. Waitress never refilled our drinks. We won't do this again.
